    Dear INC Participants,

Please note the suggested edits to the INC 190 notes made by John Nakamura below:

    1.  A participant noted that the big picture of the NANP expansion is the technological transition from switching networks to the new IP technology.

    "circuit-switched networks"

    2.  Ms. Weber presented this Issue that was jointly developed by NANP and CNA.

    "NANPA"

    3.  Mr. Doherty noted that this subject was and will continue to be addressed with NPIF and any changes that require a release will need NPAC approval.

    "and any NPAC changes"

    "will need NAPM LLC approval."

    4.  Mr. Nakamura explained that if someone tried to port away from the thousands-blocks, the code-holder would get a notification. Even if a port was placed in error, it would not be able to process.  It was noted that some SPs have automation that allows an error notice to go out.

"Mr. Nakamura explained that if someone tried to port away from a future-dated thousands-blocks, the code-holder would get a port-out notification. Even if a port was placed in error, it would not be able to process, if the code-holder placed the TN in conflict with a cause code of 50 or 51.  It was noted that some SPs have port-out automation that allows a port-in-error to proceed, so no error notification would get sent out."

    5.  The group discussed the potential for nefarious agents to notice that new codes are being activated and to port blocks unsuspectedly.

    "and to port TNs unsuspectedly."

    6.  A participant inquired if it was possible port blocks that have never been used before.  As NPAC is a database, there is no way of knowing the history.

"was possible to port TNs in thousands-blocks that"

"As NPAC is a 'current-status port-corrected' database, the NPAC database does not maintain history of thousands-blocks."

    7.  Areas with one or more area codes are referred to as complex.

    "with two or more"

    8.  It was suggested that updates to the document steer away from language implying administrators have any authority whatsoever, as the NANPA and CNA cannot grant resources.

"cannot grant resources, but rather they assign resources that have already been granted."
